It was the first crop we grew here on Poreang Farm, and now it dwarfs everything else on the land.
With over 100 clumps, our bamboo forest produces large amounts of edible shoots, some of which we preserve, and provides plenty of building material for use around the farm.
We also make high-grade biochar from old bits of bamboo and reintroduce it into the forest to help improve the soil.
We feed our plants with manure from our farm’s goat herd and apply leaves as a thick mulch to help retain moisture in the soil.
