Our First SONGKRAN in BANGKOK THAILAND 2024! 🇹🇭

Hi everyone! สวัสดีค่ะ 🙏 Today in Thailand, it’s Songkran! Songkran festival is the celebration of the Thai New Year. The name Songkran comes from a Sanskrit word meaning ‘passing’ or ‘approaching’. It’s usually celebrated on the 13th of April each year and the period lasts for 3 days, although in some areas the festivities are continued throughout the week. Although the original Songkran festival wasn’t a huge water fight like it is today, the water is just as symbolic – representing purification and good fortune.

We joined Hidden Bangkok Tours and many of our friends for a water fight around a less touristy area of Bangkok for a more local experience. We had so much fun!
