Our house in Rural Thailand was Struck by Lightning AGAIN 🇹🇭

GIVE US STRENGTH! No sooner has the flood water receded from the recent Super Typhoon Noru, then this happened.

Locals in our village said they’d never seen an electrical storm of this magnitude EVER!

For more than 6 hours the sky was permanently lit up with lightning.
Just after midnight, eventually one strike hit the house on our Thai farm.
The fuse box in the farmhouse discharged a huge electrical bolt across our bedroom.

The solar inverter got fried beyond repair (power is down, proper down.)
BUT we’re safe guys, our dogs & herd of goats are safe too.

So this is what we focus on, we have to. This lifestyke is hard & will sallow you up in an instant if you crack.

I’m lucky, I’m married to the enigma that is ‘Super Toon.’ After 16 years of marriage this woman’s fortitude never fails to amaze me.

So we dust ourselves down, thank our blessings, hold firm & push on.

The generator is coping to charge everything & pump water so we can still have a shower and wash the dishes (whatever that is?)

I suppose because we’re the only farmstead for miles around in this rural location, we’re always going to be susceptible to lighting strikes, especially in the rainy seasons here in Thailand.

Our house, outside living area & raised goat house all have lightning protection . . . but jeez, this was some crazy weather, & we don’t mind admitting, super scary.

I just wish I’d woke earlier & turned everything off.
