All breeds of goats are suitable & can be used in this sustainable way of land management.
A herd will browse on the thickest of brush, stubborn weeds & the tallest of grasses. What they don’t eat they trample down with their hooves, creating a living mulch.
Another benefit of using goats to manage land is that while they’re eating, they’re also fertilizing the soil at the same time (for free.)
Rotating goats on land (pasture) every two weeks reduces the livestock parasite load by breaking it’s breeding cycle.
Rotating the heard on different parts of your land also allows the regrowth of vegetation. What often happens is you’ll notice grasses outgrowing the unwanted brush & weeds.
