The larger males chased the eggbound females & could be seen rubbing themselves against the females’ stomachs, trying to get them to release their eggs.
It was fascinating watching them up close while recording the mating process.
It’s the first time we’ve witnessed Catfish spawning on land.
The catfish could be seen leaving the safety of the water to spawn in the grass along the lake’s edge.
